A few kilometers far from Lugano you can find the factory of the biggest manufacturer in Switzerland. Besides the working factory of The Alprose chocolate, visitors can also visit a small museum named Schokoland which represent the world of chocolate. If you go there in the working hours, when the factory is open, you will be surrounded by a unique smell of chocolate!

In the museum, you look for the machines, production units and all the items that have been used in the various phases of chocolate processing, from the beginning till now. The high amount of documentation and objects in the museum made it a special one among the chocolate museums around the world.

Other than the factory and the museum, you have a chance to visit a chocolate store there. You can taste samples of plenty types of chocolate and there is a rich collection at the shop, you can find everything from traditional bars to precious chocolate truffles. In the Alprose factory shop, you can also buy chocolates at a discounted price.

In the Schokoland museum, you can find the best collection of Swiss chocolates and see how the factory makes them. So, if you love chocolate, Schokoland is a great place to visit for you, just please don’t tell about this place to your dentist.
