The Mount Rigi has raised magnificent among Lucerne, Zug, and Lauerz lakes. The highest point of this mountain is near two thousand meters above sea level, and visitors can watch the wonderful panorama of Lucerne Lake, Alpine mountains and northern areas of the Mittelland plateau.

From the eighteenth century, Rigi was a great place for travelers looking for a place to relax and enjoy in Europe. Even the Queen of Victoria put her steps on top of this mountain. In the nineteenth century, massage and hydrotherapy centers and stylish hotels appeared in the area and the possibility of staying near Rigi was provided to many travelers. The modern era of tourism began in the late 19th, which was accompanied by the construction of the Vitznau-Rigi railroad line. This rail line is historically recorded as the first mountain rail line in Europe.

With over 100 km of biking paths and 15 km of Nordic walking routes, the mountains attract many tourists. Along these paths, mountain climbers face the magnificent views of the lakes and the Mittelland. Rigiland also has great playgrounds for children, and adults can enjoy fun on golf courses, picnic areas, natural swimming pools or water treatments. Another attraction of Rigi mountains, especially in the summer, is the astonishing variety of flowers. In the winter, Rigi looks like a floating island above the sea of fog. At these heights, visitors can choose from winter sports including skiing, snowboarding, air boarding, and sledding. Of course, there is also a hiking path that can be walked with proper shoes.

Many of the old trains are providing public nostalgic trips that take place on weekends. These rebuilt steam-powered locomotives, dating back more than 100 years ago, use about 500 kg of charcoal and 2,200 liters of water. Moreover, there are modern panoramic gondola lifts, that transmits more than 600 thousand passengers per year to the top of the mountain.

The Rigi Mountain is in an amazing area, where the three lakes meet and are easily accessible by rail and cable cars. The spectacular views of the Alpine peaks along with a range of amusement and entertainment activities make this mountain a great resort.
