Fantastic Switzerland Association is a non-profit initiative dedicated to promoting Switzerland as a place to live, work, study, visit and do business.

Information we collect

We may collect personal information when you:

Where the GDPR applies, processing may be based on consent, the performance of a contract or requested service, compliance with legal obligations, or our legitimate interest in operating and protecting Fantastic Switzerland.

Contributions and publication

When submitting a contribution, you can choose whether Fantastic Switzerland may publish it:

• with your first name and country
• anonymously
• not at all

Your last name and email address will not be published unless you separately and expressly agree.

If publication permission is granted, Fantastic Switzerland may publish the submitted text and any uploaded photograph on its website, in newsletters and on its social media channels. Text may be lightly edited for spelling, length or clarity without changing its meaning.

You confirm that submitted content belongs to you or that you have the necessary permission to share it. Please do not upload identifiable photographs or personal information about another person without that person's permission.

You may withdraw publication permission for future use by contacting info@fantasticswitzerland.org. We will remove the contribution from channels under our control where reasonably possible. Withdrawal does not affect processing or publication that occurred before the withdrawal.

Club updates and communications

Providing an email address for verification does not automatically subscribe you to marketing communications.

We will only send occasional updates, newsletters or invitations to the Fantastic Switzerland Club if you have actively selected the corresponding option.

You may unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting info@fantasticswitzerland.org.

Service providers

We use third-party service providers to operate our website and forms. These currently include:

• GoDaddy for website hosting, website functionality, member accounts and related services
• Tally BV for questionnaires, forms and submitted contributions

Tally states that form data is encrypted in transit and at rest and stored in Europe. Further information is available in the Tally Privacy Notice:

We may also use providers for email delivery, website security, data storage and technical support. They may process personal data only to the extent required to provide their services.

We do not sell personal information.

Some service providers or their subcontractors may process information outside Switzerland or the European Economic Area.

Where required, we use providers located in countries with an adequate level of data protection or rely on appropriate contractual and organizational safeguards.

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies provided by GoDaddy and other service providers for essential functionality, security, performance and, where enabled, analytics.

• contact enquiries are normally retained for up to 24 months after the last communication
• Club and newsletter details are retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent
• member account information is retained while the account remains active and for any additional legally required period
• contributions and publication permissions may be retained while a contribution is being reviewed or published and for as long as reasonably necessary to document the permission received
• technical records may be retained according to the retention periods of our service providers

Information may be retained longer where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

However, no internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your rights

Depending on the applicable law, you may have the right to:

• request access to your personal information
• request correction of inaccurate information
• request deletion of your information
• object to or restrict certain processing
• withdraw consent at any time
• request a portable copy of information you provided
• lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority
